- types of stunts/tricks to be performed
- one reference (descriptive or illustrative)
AUTHENTICITY (0-4 points)Add one point if costumed as a period juggler or tumbler.

- 1:Attempt at period, but with some obviously non-period elements.
- 2:Basically appears period, with only minor inconsistencies.
- 3:Props, patter, etc. all period.
- 4:#3, plus special effort to create period effect in all details, including costume.
Tumbling

COMPLEXITY (1-5 points) Rank the ambition of the attempt, NOT the workmanship, on a scale of 1 to 5 based on the following.
- difficulty of stunts/techniques attempted
- variety of stunts/techniques attempted
- difficulty and variety of combinations and timing attempted
- scope of attempt (length, number of elements/performers involved, etc.)
WORKMANSHIP (1-5 points)Rank the success of the attempt on a scale of 1 to 5 based on the following.
- skill at stunts/techniques can the entrant perform them successfully?
- transitions and combinations: are they smooth?
- polish: consider grace, timing, speed, control - charisma, awareness of audience, showmanship
CREATIVITY (1-6 points)Give score based on the following:
- 1:Entry entirely illogical in context of period.
- 2:A few basic stunts strung together or repeated;
- 3:Predictable combination of standard stunts; obvious progression of easy to hard; minimal transition.
- 4:Some variation: in stunts, combinations, directions moves. Some unexpected activities OR #3 plus unusual and well-developed patter, theme, etc.
- 5:#4, but more variation and contrasts: up and down, high and low, fast and slow. (Don't blink, you may miss something.) OR #4 plus unusual and well-developed patter, theme, etc.
- 6:Completely innovative and unusual performance, but still logical to period context. Use of surprising or original stunts (e.g. foot-juggling, somersault landing on one leg), innovative use of props or equipment (e.g. juggling cats, swinging through trees); theme, mime, elaborate patter, or personalizing touches.
QUALITY (1-6 points) Evaluate the work as a whole.
NOTE: This category is subjective; however, the judge should take into account prior category scores, aesthetic appeal, presentation, intuitive response, and other such items not previously addressed.
