- 4:Mediums forms with complex ornamentation or large forms with some ornamentation.
- 5:Large forms with complex ornamentation.
WORKMANSHIP (1-5 points)
- 1:Matches basic form and function (a bead with a hole through it, a shot glass that holds liquid)
- 2:Inconsistency in ornamentation and control of form; may have air bubbles
- 3:Shows moderate consistency with ornamentation and basic forms (round beads, tumbled with mostly even sides)
- 4:No air bubbles with consistent ornamentation
- 5:Forms are even throughout with no sharp edges or air bubbles
CREATIVITY (1-6 points)
- 1:Patterns and forms directly from books (like Zimmerman's Christmas Beads, etc.)

- 5:Mostly original combination of copied elements ( a strand of assorted eye beads, tumbler with personalized device)
- 6:Work is almost entirely original application of period designs and methods (a strand of Norse millifiori beads, and enameled glass, etc.)
QUALITY (1-6 points)
- 1:Basic form and function with air bubbles, or stress fractures
- 2:No stress fractures, inconsistent forms, may have air bubbles
- 3:Evidence of basic shaping skills; no stress fractures or chill marks
- 4:Stable base; good shaping skills and basic ornamentation types ( stripes, feathering, dots)
- 5:No air bubbles, consistent for and ornamentation
- 6:Consistent form with good use of complex ornamentation
